BUYING HEARTS AND MINDS


The "Sons of Iraq"are U.S. mercenaries. The U.S. has not won the "hearts and minds"of these Sunnis; we have bought--or maybe rented--their "hearts and minds" with our bribes.

Can you trust purchased hearts and minds? Of course not--and the US should know that, from previous experience. But then the U.S. knows that you can't trust information given to you as the result of torture--and yet the U.S. keeps torturing prisoners.
